2010 AAA Board Nomination Form and Election Details

At the meeting with the Reps on November 20th, 2009, the Board announced that an election process will take place in February 2010 to fill new/vacant/available Board positions and recruit additional volunteers to assist the Board. Attached is the Nomination Form that we request the Reps and Presidents share with their members at their next meeting (December or January). I highly recommend that you or your communications officer email THE FORM (PDF) (Word doc) out to your members prior to the meeting so they have a chance to become familiar with the positions and process prior to discussing it in a meeting.

To nominate: Your art group may collectively come up with names/people to nominate and submit it all on one form, OR individual members of your art group may complete the form and submit names to be considered. Nominees do NOT have to be a member artist. You may nominate someone you know who is not a member artist but whom you think would be a good fit with the Arizona Art Alliance. For example, the volunteer assistant to the Treasurer ideally would be someone with experience in bookkeeping, accounting or finance. The assistant to the Secretary ideally would be someone who can take notes at meetings as a back-up. Members of your art group may also have this experience too, which would be even better!

It is very important that your nominee(s) know that you are forwarding his/her name and that they have agreed to become a volunteer with the Arizona Art Alliance! All nominations MUST be received prior to January 15th. You may email your nominations to barbhurley@azartalliance.com or mail it to the address identified on the second page of the form. Mailed nominations must be received prior to January 15th to be considered. The Board will review all the nominations at the January 15th Board meeting and then the actual election process will be conducted at the February 19th meeting.

We are very excited about some of the opportunities that are coming up for artists and the membership in 2010. We hope you or someone you know will step forward and get involved!
